TV brackets - Three things to consider before mounting your LCD TV

If you have bought a brand new LCD TV or if you plan to purchase one in the near future, you will also need to consider buying the right TV brackets for your new TV.

TV brackets help to mount your LCD TV on the wall. They provide firm support to the TV and prevent it from falling to floor and becoming damaged. Bear the following tips in mind when choosing a TV bracket, to ensure you get the right one for your LCD TV.

Wall type

Flat screen televisions can be mounted on different types of walls. The common type of wall is one which comes with wooden studding. You will require a stud finder to find the centre of the studs which help to mount your LCD TV.

You can also mount your TV on a solid concrete wall or a cinder block wall. When mounting your TV on solid concrete walls, you will need solid anchors for a safe connection.

The size of your LCD TV

When you go shopping for TV brackets, you will notice that there are a variety of TV brackets available for all sizes of TV. There are also some universal TV brackets which claim to be suitable for all types of LCD televisions.

There is a big difference between a 22 inch flat screen model and a 50 inch model, however. Proper mounting hardware will help you to mount bigger screen TVs correctly using many studs instead of just one. The choice of TV brackets will also differ depending on the screen size of your LCD TV.

Type of TV brackets

You can go for flat TV brackets for a bigger screen LCD TV while cantilever TV brackets may be a better choice for small screen televisions.
